VEDA

So starting tomorrow I plan on posting a Vlog Every Day in April. I am not sure how successful I will be, but I'm looking forward to it. The theme is TREES. I am The Tree Guru after all. :P

It is now 10:22 AM EST. As I type this, Mr. Doc is on his way home, with the game whose title is here->

I know he will be playing most of the day, but my problem is this, do I want him to tell me what happens or not? I can't decide which I would prefer.

On the one hand, yes I want to have the opening movie described to me in detail, but on the other hand...I kinda want to see it for myself, you know?

He did tell me that the poker chips, and playing cards are made of awesomesauce so I am looking forward to that and the graphic novel New Roads.

Well, I guess I'll just have to figure it out. *sighs* THIS SUCKS.

It was a hard decision as to whether Mr. Doc and I were going to see Red or Jackass 3-D. I was excited about both but it was late when we finally got to the theater and I was not looking forward to an hour and half of headache inducing 3-D, so Red it was.

And it was a GREAT choice. I've never read the graphic novel so I don't know how well it was adapted but as an action movie, it kicked major butt. Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, and Helen Mirren are all actors I have seen before. But I am new to the work of John Malkovich, and I have to say, I LIKE him. He was crazy without being painful and funny without being annoying. Plus, he is totally Mr. Doc's best friend in like 40 years.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the late bloomer Karl Urban. I first watched him kick ass as Eomer in the LOTR series, and I loved him then. I enjoyed his performance in Star Trek as well, but this, this was a GREAT role for him.

I have already decided that he needs to throw his hat in the ring for the role of Roland in the The Dark Tower movies/tv series.

Red was action packed, funny, with just a little bit of emotion thrown in, a perfect mix. My favorite bits include John Malkovich launching himself at Bruce Willis and Mary-Louise Parker, Bruce Willis beating the crap out of Karl Urban and Brian Cox macking on Helen Mirren.

All in all, definitely worth a watch.

My one true fear

As a child I was scared of lots of things, I didn't like the dark, I was terrified by spiders, vampires gave me the willies. Normal stuff for kids.

But one night, when I was about 7, my mom rented the cartoon version of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. All I remember is having weeks upon weeks of nightmares about the Headless Horseman.

I didn't think about it again until I was 11. In 6th grade I was in an advanced Literature class and we traveled to a nearby town to see several short stories get the theater treatment. I really enjoyed The Monkey's Paw, and The Tell-Tale Heart. But then, they started telling the story of that ghoul of a German Mercenary, the Headless Horseman. I was so scared I had to leave. The HH scared me so bad, I couldn't even finish the Wishbone version of the story.

My freshman year of college, my parents and I took a trip to Walt Disney World and we attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party. I was really excited about seeing the parade until my Mom informed me that it was led by the Headless Horseman...on a real horse...whose hooves sometimes sparked on the cobblestones. *shudders* So instead we rode Splash Mountain three times in a row. It was tons more fun than having a week or more worth of nightmares.

Even now, 5 years later, at 23, I still am uneasy about anything to do with Sleepy Hollow. I won't even watch the Johnny Depp movie, and he is one of my favorite actors of all time.

Childish it may be, we all have fears, some we admit to, others we don't. But we aren't the only ones with those fears. And it's so much better to share them than keep them bottled up inside.

So, this past Tuesday I wandered over to the tennantitis comm over at LJ. And this *points to picture* was waiting for me...without the captions of course.

So I had to do something with it, and the Double Rainbow guy came to mind immediately. So...DOUBLE DOCTOR ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY

1st Post

Well, I'm starting something new, an actual attempt to blog. I have done it intermittently thru the years but have never done it as a serious habit. But I need this right now. Someplace where hopefully no one will judge me for what I feel and think...

Someplace where, I can be me, and not the public me that everyone knows and loves but the real me. A rather dark and twisted soul who derives her pleasure from the decapitation of vampires named Edward.
